Hi I'm Natalie B and I’m a freelance makeup artist! My interest for makeup began as a little child, playing with the one foundation my mom had. Using her red lipstick and thinking to myself I was unstoppable. The interest grew and I found myself at drugstores and local beauty supply stores buying lip gloss, powder, and a small neutral eye shadow palette as a teen. After I graduated High School, I began to work at Nordstrom. Nordstrom was where I discovered makeup artistry and a career in it. Being able to see how creative each makeup artist at each counter was, and eventually getting my makeup done at Nordstrom. I wanted to experience that all over again. My obsession grew. I started going to MAC and then to Sephora. I would eventually become a Sephora Rouge client, meaning I spent way too much money in a calendar year on beauty products. Slowly my love for beauty evolved into giving beauty tips to my girlfriends; suddenly I found myself doing their makeup. Doing their makeup brought back the feeling I would get when I was in the "chair," the feeling of happiness, only to realize I wanted to do this professionally. Even after I realized I still hesitated. It's not a safe profession, there were no guarantees. I did what I thought was right and got a safe good paying job. It was the most depressing time of my life. So, I decided years later after serious soul searching, I wanted to pursue a career as a makeup artist. I quit my job and decided to pursue my passion. I enrolled at Chic Studios NYC and completed their Master Makeup Artistry training course. I began to network and start my career as a freelance makeup artist working part time at Sephora Times Square. I participated in multiple NY fashion week shows, photo shoots and had the pleasure to do some bridal gigs. I can finally say I am happy again because I’m doing what I love. I’m empowering women and men. I love what I do because I get to be creative and celebrate beauty in all shapes and sizes. I get to make people feel confident about themselves and that feeling is the best. It’s rewarding, it’s humbling, it’s everything and more.
